Where consent is the appropriate basis, you may withdraw that consent for future processing, subject to legal or operational obligations that may require us to retain certain records.

8. International Operations and Data Transfers

The Yahweh Mission is a global mission and may work with teams, service providers, volunteers, donors and partners in more than one country. As a result, information may be accessed, processed or stored in a country different from the country where it was collected.

Where required by applicable law, we seek to use reasonable safeguards for cross-border transfers and to limit access to those who need the information for legitimate mission purposes.

9. How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain appropriate nonprofit and financial records, to manage ongoing relationships, to meet safeguarding needs, to resolve disputes, or to comply with applicable legal obligations.

Different categories of information may have different retention periods. For example, financial records may need to be kept longer than an ordinary website enquiry, while safeguarding records may require special retention because of the nature of the concern and applicable reporting obligations.

10. Information Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, loss, misuse or disclosure. Measures may include role-based access, secure hosting, encryption in transit where supported, account controls, backups, vendor reviews and staff awareness practices.

The Yahweh Mission works with children and vulnerable communities. Information about children is treated with heightened care. We seek to collect and share only what is reasonably necessary for legitimate program, sponsorship, safeguarding or storytelling purposes and to use appropriate consent or authorization processes.

Child profiles, photographs, videos, education information, family circumstances and personal stories should never be used in a manner that exposes a child to unnecessary risk, humiliation, exploitation or inappropriate contact.

Direct communication between sponsors, volunteers or visitors and children must follow The Yahweh Mission's approved safeguarding channels. For additional requirements, please review our Safeguarding Policy.

12. Cookies, Analytics and Similar Technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential website functions, security, preferences, analytics and other purposes described in our Cookie Policy. Where required, non-essential cookies should be used only after appropriate consent has been obtained.

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to request access to personal information, ask for correction, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, request portability, or lodge a complaint with an appropriate regulator.

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to exemptions, identity verification and legal recordkeeping obligations. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity before responding to a request.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy as our programs, technology, partners, legal obligations and global operations develop. The latest version will be posted on www.theyahwehmission.org with an updated effective date.
