1. Purpose of This Disclosure Statement
This Disclosure Statement is intended to help donors, sponsors, volunteers, partners and the public understand how The Yahweh Mission describes its charitable status, programs, fundraising, use of funds, child sponsorship, international work and public communications.
Transparency strengthens trust. We aim to communicate both the hope of our mission and the responsibilities that come with receiving charitable support.
2. Nonprofit Status
The Yahweh Mission is represented on its existing mission website as a U.S.-registered nonprofit organization recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The organization may also operate through local registrations, mission structures, staff, contractors or partner organizations where required for work in other countries.
501(c)(3) status is a U.S. federal tax classification. It does not automatically mean that donations are deductible in every country or that local mission operations have the same legal status in every jurisdiction.
3. Mission and Faith Identity
The Yahweh Mission is a Christian faith-rooted humanitarian mission. Our faith motivates service, prayer, compassion and care for people facing poverty and hardship.
Humanitarian support should be provided with dignity and without improper discrimination based on caste, creed, ethnicity, nationality, gender, disability, social background or a person's willingness to participate in religious activity. Program eligibility may vary according to legitimate charitable criteria and available resources.
4. Charitable Contributions and Tax Matters
Contributions to organizations recognized under Section 501(c)(3) are generally eligible for U.S. federal charitable deduction treatment subject to applicable law, substantiation rules and the donor's individual circumstances.
The Yahweh Mission may issue donation acknowledgements or receipts for qualifying contributions. Donors should retain appropriate records and consult their own tax adviser regarding deductibility, valuation, international giving or other tax questions.
Nothing on our website constitutes personal tax advice or guarantees a particular tax result.
5. Use and Stewardship of Donated Funds
Donations may support charitable programs such as education, child care, food and nutrition, healthcare, clean water, emergency relief, livelihood initiatives, community development, faith-based support, safeguarding, program monitoring and the infrastructure required to deliver those services responsibly.
Responsible charitable work also requires administration, financial controls, technology, communications, staffing, legal compliance, fundraising, training, security and other operating functions. Donor communications should not imply that every dollar can be spent only on a visible field item unless the specific fundraising terms genuinely provide for that restriction.
6. Child Sponsorship Disclosure
Sponsorship is charitable support and does not create legal custody, adoption, guardianship or ownership rights over a child. Sponsored children remain part of their families and communities.
Sponsorship funds may be combined with other charitable resources to provide education, nutrition, healthcare, family assistance, program staffing, safeguarding, monitoring or community support. Unless a specific program expressly states otherwise, sponsorship should not be understood as a direct person-to-person cash transfer.
Child information, images, letters, visits and communication are subject to safeguarding and privacy controls. The safety and dignity of the child take priority over a sponsor's preference for direct contact.
7. Program, Fundraising and Operating Costs
The Yahweh Mission aims to use resources prudently and maximize charitable impact. At the same time, a responsible nonprofit requires adequate investment in governance, safeguarding, compliance, finance, technology, staff, fundraising and administration.
We do not recommend publishing a fixed “percentage to the field” unless that percentage is supported by current audited or reviewed financial records and calculated consistently. Where program ratios or financial figures are published, they should identify the period covered and the method used.
8. Fundraising and Public Representation Standards
Fundraising should be truthful, respectful and consistent with the dignity of the people we serve. The Yahweh Mission does not support misleading claims, fabricated emergencies, inflated statistics or images designed to humiliate children and families.
Individuals or organizations raising funds in our name must have appropriate authorization and use approved donation channels and mission information. Unauthorized use of our name or logo for fundraising may be challenged or reported.
9. Financial Accountability
We seek to maintain appropriate financial records, internal controls, authorization processes, reconciliation procedures and oversight suitable to the scale and complexity of our operations.
Financial statements, regulatory filings or other accountability information may be made available where required by law or organizational policy. U.S. tax-exempt organizations may also have public disclosure obligations for certain IRS filings.
10. Governance and Conflicts of Interest
Board members, officers, staff and other decision-makers should act in the interests of The Yahweh Mission and its charitable purpose rather than for improper private benefit.
Potential conflicts involving family relationships, financial interests, vendors, compensation, grants or related parties should be disclosed and managed through appropriate review, documentation and recusal where necessary.
11. Fraud, Bribery and Financial Crime
The Yahweh Mission does not condone fraud, theft, bribery, corruption, diversion of charitable assets, money laundering, terrorist financing or other misuse of mission resources.
Reasonable financial controls, vendor review, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening or donor due diligence may be used where appropriate to the risk and legal requirements of a transaction or country.
12. Stories, Photographs and Impact Communications
Stories and photographs are intended to communicate mission work while respecting the dignity, privacy and safety of the people represented. Names, identifying details or images may be withheld, changed or generalized when necessary for safeguarding.
Individual stories illustrate experiences and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every person or program will have the same outcome.
13. International Programs and Local Partners
The Yahweh Mission may carry out work directly or through local mission teams, partner organizations, contractors or community structures. Local conditions, laws, currencies, costs and program methods may differ between countries.
We seek to use reasonable due diligence, written expectations, monitoring and safeguarding requirements when working through partners, while recognizing that humanitarian and community work can be affected by emergencies, political conditions, infrastructure limitations and other circumstances beyond our control.
14. Volunteer, Event and Mission Travel Disclosure
Volunteer service and mission travel may involve ordinary travel and field risks, including illness, transportation disruption, weather, cultural differences, limited infrastructure and changing local conditions. Participation may require screening, insurance, releases, training, travel documents and compliance with local law.
Placement, access to children and field activities are not guaranteed and may be changed or cancelled for safeguarding, security, legal or operational reasons.
15. No Professional Advice
Information on The Yahweh Mission website is provided for general mission, charitable and educational purposes. It is not a substitute for legal, tax, medical, financial or other professional advice.
16. Third-Party Platforms and Endorsements
Links to external websites, payment providers, social media services or partner resources do not necessarily constitute endorsement of every statement, product or practice of those third parties. Independent providers are responsible for their own terms and privacy practices.
