Get Closer
We Established Since 2018
Founded in 2018, Yahweh Mission began with faith and compassion, bringing hope through education, food, healthcare, and relief to communities in Bangladesh.
A Dream Rooted in Faith and Compassion
In the humble village of Gonali, Bangladesh, life for many families has always been a daily struggle. Children grow up with limited opportunities, parents often lack stable income, and the community as a whole faces challenges rooted in poverty and neglect. Yet, in the midst of this hardship, a story of faith, friendship, and compassion began to unfold—one that would eventually change the lives of hundreds of children and families.
The Yahweh Mission of Bangladesh was not the creation of a wealthy foundation or a large international organization. Instead, it began with something far simpler: the prayers of a young man named Joy and the dream placed in the heart of Christopher (Chris) from Ohio, USA.
Chris had never set foot in Gonali, nor did he have any direct ties to Bangladesh. But through an unexpected connection, his life became intertwined with Joy’s. Their meeting was no accident—it was an answer to prayer.
Joy remembers:
“I always thought about my family, my life, and my community. And I prayed. That day, I asked God to give me a true friend—through whom everything could begin. Then I started sending friend requests. As soon as I went to Facebook, I saw you. I sent you messages. In the beginning, you asked me some questions. I kept answering. But you told me, ‘I don’t trust you. Find me on WhatsApp.’ I kept trying. I searched for you on Google and found some information, but no WhatsApp number. I even tried to reach some of your closest friends, but I was not successful. Still, I didn’t give up. Slowly our conversation progressed. Later we began sending letters. That’s how I found you as a faithful friend in my life. I believe God sent you into my life during my most difficult moments. From then on, our journey together began, and we started to dream new dreams in our mission.”
What began as cautious online conversations developed into a lasting friendship, rooted in trust, mutual respect, and a shared faith in God. Over two years of prayerful reflection and late-night discussions, Chris felt an undeniable calling to bring hope to Gonali’s forgotten children—while Joy knew his prayer for a faithful friend had been answered.
Together, they laid the foundation for what would become the Yahweh Mission of Bangladesh.
Founded in 2018, Yahweh Mission began with faith and compassion, bringing hope through education, food, healthcare, and relief to communities in Bangladesh.
The mission did not begin with buildings, programs, or large donations. It began with something as simple as a blanket.
Chris asked Joy, “What do the people of Gonali need the most right now?” Joy explained how families often slept in the open air without warmth, exposed to the cold and rain. That image pierced Chris’s heart. Without hesitation, he sent funds to provide blankets for those most in need.
For Joy, this was the first confirmation that his prayers were being answered—not only had God sent him a friend, but one willing to act. For the families who received the blankets, it meant warmth, dignity, and care. For Chris, it was a revelation: if such a small act could make such a difference, then much more could be achieved through steady, faithful giving.
That was the spark that ignited the Yahweh Mission.
After the first small step, Chris and Joy began to dream even bigger. Their earliest idea was to bring one child from Gonali to the United States, to provide education and opportunities that would never have been possible in the village. This dream reflected their shared desire to see a life transformed completely through learning.
But as they prayed and discussed, they realized the need was far greater. Gonali was filled with children roaming the streets without schooling—some from broken homes, some orphaned, and many too poor to afford books, uniforms, or even a daily meal. It became clear that instead of helping only one child, they were being called to reach many.
Chris carried the vision: to create a safe place where children could learn, grow, and experience God’s love. Joy, though young himself, embraced this mission wholeheartedly and immediately put it into action. He cleared out a small room in the village, gathered a few benches, and began inviting children to come and learn.
At first, only a handful of children arrived—curious but hesitant. To encourage them, Joy offered food along with lessons. For many, it was the first hot meal they had eaten in days. Slowly, more children joined, and that small room began to shine as a beacon of hope.
It was Chris’s steadfast support from abroad and Joy’s persistence on the ground that transformed an empty space into a humble school. Their shared faith and determination turned a simple dream into a living reality for Gonali’s children.

What began with blankets and a handful of benches soon evolved into a structured mission. Chris continued to raise awareness and funds in the U.S., sharing the story with friends, churches, and anyone who would listen. People were moved by the testimony of how one man’s dream and another’s persistence could change an entire village.
With the growing support, Joy recruited volunteer teachers, purchased basic school supplies, and expanded the program. Children once wandering the streets were now reading, writing, and finding joy in learning. Families began to notice real change in their community.
After two years of consistent work, the mission was officially registered in Bangladesh, giving it recognition, credibility, and stability. Volunteers joined—both locally and from abroad—encouraged by the story of Chris and Joy.
The Yahweh Mission was no longer just a friendship. It had become a living movement of faith, love, and transformation.
Though still small compared to global organizations, its impact is profound and deeply personal.
At the heart of the mission is faith. Children are taught about God’s love, the importance of kindness, honesty, and serving others. They are not just educated in mind but also in spirit.
